One of the most impacting characteristics of this series were the huge 8' tall chalkboards that lined every entrance to each campus. Each week, the congregation courageously wrote their prayers and Pastor Kevin shaped his messages around the common themes. They completed the following sentences:
- I Pray About __________.
- I Pray When __________.
- I Don't Pray Because __________.
Week 1: "Shaken & Stirred" - If you want to break from superficial into supernatural, you have to break from busy. Scripture: II Samuel 5:17-25, Daniel 6, Luke 11, Matthew 6, Haggai
Week 2: "I Pray For Our Nation" - Despite opposition by jealous peers and threat of death, Daniel stayed true to his faith and his commitment to pray three times daily to the one true God. In this message, PK draws from Daniel’s prayer for his nation in chapter 9 and highlights the importance of bringing the circumstances of one’s nations and politics to God in prayer. Scripture: Daniel 9
Week 3: "When I am Stuck" - Use fasting to gain traction; to step out in faith to apply intensity and focus to our prayer life, and to have courage to resolve like Daniel. Daniel had no idea what was on the other side of the fast, but what he found was resolve. Scripture: Matthew 6:16-18, Daniel 1, Daniel 10:2
Week 4: "I Don't Pray" - Prayer is not how you secure control, its how you surrender control. Scripture: Exodus 17:8-16
Week 5: "I Pray When..." - One Conviction: prevail in prayer to prevail in life! Scripture: Matthew 8:1-4, 1 John 1:9, 2:1-2; Luke 18:1-8
Week 6: "Uncertain Future" - We draw from John 14 to explain how Jesus has built a box of faith formed by four promises from God’s Word that takes the “un” out of uncertain to give us a certain future. Scripture: John 14
