In January 2009, 12Stone decided to select a new Church Management System (church database). We used Shelby v5 for many years, and it had outgrown its usefulness for our ministry operations. These documents describe the process we used, the systems we reviewed, and the decisions made. They also describe our implementation process.
Note: Technology has changed dramatically since this project was implemented. These documents are being shared to show you the process we used not to recommend our decision to you. All the systems we considered have changed dramatically since this was done.
We have also included documents from another church (High Desert Valley) because of their impact on our process. These documents were shared in the public domain, and we have provided all the credit and web site addresses so that you can find them yourself. Even though we selected a different system, their blog and process was deeply influential in our decision.
In case you are wondering, the answer is yes; we are still pleased with our choice after five years!
